Trees

Amboyna

Amboyna Burl wood has been extracted from the jungles of Southeast Asia, the burl is harvested from Narra tree. Rare, exotic hardwood, its color varies from yellow to golden brown and red, and is generally considered excellent for both turning and finishing.

Mahagony

Mahogany is one of the most valuable timber trees. Its colour varies from light red or pale tan to deep golden brown, depending on the country of origin (Ghana, Camerun, Zaire). Its figures include stripes, extremely strong, hard, stable and decay resistant.

Padouk

Padouk is an amazing bright orange wood from Central and West Africa. With age and light it's colour does darken. This is a commonly used exotic wood of medium hardness and density.

Thuya

Thuya Burl is imported from Algeria and Morocco. It is golden red with shades of brown burls. It is moderately hard and heavy. It works well with tools, relatively rare and therefore expensive.

Wenge

Wenge comes from Congo Camerun, Gabon and Zaire. The heartwood is dark brown, almost black with fine pencil-thin stripes. Hard and heavy.

Yellow birch

Yellow birch is a deciduous hardwood which grows principally in Russia, Finnland, North-America. It is identified by its bright, yellowish bronze colored bark. Heavy, strong, hard, and even-textured.

Ebony

African ebony wood can be found in the tropical rainforests of Africa (Ghana, Congo), and South-East Asia (India, Ceylon, Malaysia, and Indonesia). It is mostly black with occasional grey streaks, fine texture and a straight to wavy grain. Sap wood is pale yellow and very distinct,
